Fatal Bus Accident Remains Under Investigation

Hawaii News Now reports that there were no signs of mechanical failure in vehicles involved in the fatal bus crash in Indiana. In that crash, a beloved school principal died after pushing somewhere between 6 and 10 students out of the way, before she was run over.

The incident occurred this past week when one school bus lurched forward as students were lining up to board another. The bus sprung forward, and looked as if it wouldn't stop – driving up over the curb and kept going, across the sidewalk and into the grass. As the bus was careening toward the line of children, the principal started pushing children out of the way. Witnesses believe her actions saved many children.

The accident remains under investigation, however an initial investigation found no mechanical problems and the bus driver showed no signs of impairment.

Whenever a motor vehicle accident occurs, whether a car accident, truck accident or bus accident, it is important to investigate all of the factors surrounding an incident. This includes potential driver error, including reckless or negligent conduct, defective or faulty parts, and whether a vehicle was properly maintained. Many times, more than one factor may have caused or contributed to an incident.
