Worker suffers serious injuries in construction accident

Hawaii news reports that a construction worker suffered serious personal injuries after falling from a rooftop at a Kapolei construction site.

Construction work is one of the most dangerous types of jobs, bringing with it several inherent dangers. When accidents do occur, they often lead to significant injuries, such as spinal cord injuries, broken bones, and traumatic brain injuries.

The most common types of injures include falls from ladders, roof tops and scaffolding, electrocutions, being struck on the head, and accidents involving the use of heavy equipment. Many times, as a result of the injury, a worker may be unable to continue working and earning a living, whether temporarily and permanently. If you are injured, you may be able to file a claim for workers compensation benefits. Workers compensation may cover hospital and medical expenses from the injury as well as provide disability payments, rehabilitation and retraining.

Other times, it may be possible to file a civil personal injury lawsuit, depending on the nature of the injury. If you have sustained injuries in a construction accident, it is important to consult with an experienced Hawaii personal injury attorney who can explore your options and help determine the best course of action in your situation.
