Whenever traffic fatalities – including pedestrian accidents occur – it is critical to consult with an experienced Hawaii personal injury lawyer who can represent you and your family's interests and conduct a thorough investigation into all of the factors that may have led to the incident. A Hawaii accident law firm can help ensure that your rights are protected.

Several factors may be implicated whenever an accident occurs. For example – it's important to determine whether the parties involved were obeying traffic laws. Was the driver distracted or speeding? Was the driver under the influence of alcohol? What about the pedestrian – was he or she crossing within a designated crosswalk? Further, what were the conditions of the roadway? Was the area free from debris or other obstructions? In order to determine whether negligence was involved and the basis for any party's liability, a skilled accident attorney must review all the relevant factors surrounding an accident.

In this instance, the exact reasons for the accident are unknown. Reports indicate that the man was crossing within the crosswalk and that speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this accident. This is the 50th traffic fatality for 2014, compared to 45 in 2013.
