Despite significant effort being made to eliminate drunk driving, thousands of people across the country are injured or killed in alcohol related injuries each year. When an impaired driver causes an injury accident, in addition to any criminal charges, the injured party and his or her family may be able to file a civil lawsuit. By filing a civil lawsuit, you may be able to recover numerous costs, including the expense of medical treatment, repair expenses for damage to your car and lost wages. Additional compensation may be available for physical and emotional suffering.
This accident marks the 24th Oahu traffic fatality this year.
