Honolulu Airplane Crash Injures Three

Hawaii News report s that 3 occupants of a single engine airplane suffered serious injuries when their plane crashed in urban Honolulu. The occupants were all in their 20s. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating the crash. The plane was owned by a Honolulu company, which had rented the plane to the pilot sand passengers. Despite suffering serious injuries, the occupants are suspected to survive.

While small aircraft accidents are not uncommon in Hawaii due to the demand for both personal and tourism related travel, crashes in urban areas are infrequent. Several factors will likely be evaluated in this instance. For example, was the plane well maintained? Had the owner kept the plane in proper working order? The actions of the pilot will also be evaluated. Did he have the proper training and did he follow the requisite safety rules and regulations to operate the plane? Further, what other factors may have caused or contributed to this accident?

The accident remains under investigation.
