Woman Sustains Serious Personal Injuries in Pedestrian Accident

According to reports, a woman sustained critical injuries in a Honolulu pedestrian accident. The woman was crossing the road in the cross walked near Ala Moana. She was struck by a man who was turning onto Kanunu Street. She was taken to the hospital and treated for head injuries.

Police note that they do not believe drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the incident, and further note that it had been raining off and on that day, so that the roads were slippery.

Whenever an accident occurs numerous factors will be evaluated. Factors concerning the condition and behavior of the driver are evaluated – was he or she driving recklessly? Was distracted driving at play? Was the driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol? Depending on the situation, a municipality, or other party responsible for roadway maintenance, the driver or the pedestrian may be found responsible when an incident occurs.
